Tera Online: Release in 2012 (official statement)

As you can read on official Tera Online Website, the release has officially being moved to 2012. This is nothing new, as I already posted in a previous post, that “Tera Online release delayed – No Tera Online in 2011?” from an inside leak from within the Frogster Offices.
For everyone else, flaming in the above posts comments: Haha, sucks for you fanboys.
Here the whole post:
August 3, 2011
Hello TERA faithful! My name is Chris "Chager" Hager, and I'm the North American producer for TERA. I've got some exciting news to share today about what we've been up to this year so far, as well as what we'll be doing for the rest of 2011 and 2012.
TERA has had a busy 2011, and the year's barely half over! After successful showings at CES and GDC, we unveiled the game's political system at E3, where we received several awards and even more nominations.
The big news I'll be sharing today is our launch timing! That's right folks, we are ramping up for a spring 2012 launch date. Our focus has always been on launching TERA when it's ready, so you can take heart knowing that we feel we're getting close enough to announce our launch window. Let me explain, in further detail, what we'll be doing between now and spring 2012.
Later this year we will begin our alpha testing. For those who aren't yet familiar with this term, alpha testing is essentially small-scale testing with people outside the company, with the goal of collecting feedback on specific game features. An alpha test has the added benefit of allowing our internal teams to practice running a game in a "live" environment, so when the beta phase starts in early 2012, TERA will be operating like a well-oiled machine.
During our alpha, we'll test PvP server settings, overall progression, quest feedback, BAM (big-ass monster) fights, our brand new platform (account management), and a lot of other things that we'll talk about in greater detail later this year. In addition to testing new systems and Western features, we'll also fine-tune existing systems with our players in mind. Once all of these systems are in place, it's important to us that we get user feedback prior to our beta phase.
"Wait, did you say beta in early 2012?" Why yes, yes I did. Once we complete the alpha phase, we'll incorporate that feedback into the client, polish any new content, and then start beta testing early next year. Most of y'all are familiar with betas and how they work; for us, their main purpose is to expose greater numbers of players to TERA so they can experience the incredible action combat system, group up with some friends to take down a BAM or two, and in general enjoy a slice of TERA. We'll announce specific dates and times for our beta testing when we get a little closer, but the culmination of those beta events will be a launch for TERA in the spring of 2012!
So what does all of this mean for you? We'll be allowing a few select players to enter our alpha test later this year, and we'll open the door even wider in early 2012 with our beta testing. For details on both of these initiatives, as well as more about the features we'll be implementing and testing, stop by www.TERA-Online.com. As we've been discussing the details behind the alpha plan here at En Masse this past week, the excitement has grown palpable! We feel we're on the right path to deliver a truly epic game to our players and fans.
Thanks!

TERA Online: Japan Closed Beta announced

Hey, TERA Fans! It's been a long time since we've had major TERA news, hasn't it? I think that will all be changing as the E3 Expo rolls around next month from June 7th-9th; it seems to me we'll get some sort of important announcement there!

I'll be at the show and I'll see TERA at both its Atari and En Masse Entertainment booths so as not to miss anything. As the show draws nearer I'll also be taking questions from the community for an interview with the EME team :) So, exciting times ahead, have no fear!

TERA: Crystal Guide (Advanced Mechanics)

Crystals are attached to equipment in order to improve a character’s chances of survival in a variety of ways. Crystals allow the player to improve the strengths that their class already possess, or they can be used in order to conquer any limitations the class may possess. This in-depth system allows the player to create their own style of play in a very detailed way. In TERA, Crystals are regarded as consumable items, meaning that if a character dies or if you decide to unequip the Crystal, it could be destroyed.

TERA Online: Demon Beast of Destruction Update

Tera Online Basics: Homunculus Guide

The Homunculus, introduced in the city of Velika, is a unique pet system in TERA. This pet may offer many different services to its owner. In the recent FGT2, the Homunculus was a personal shop system and this guide will detail the steps to setting one up. Life is much easier when someone else does the buying or selling for you, but of course this system is not without a price. The player will have to take care of its Homunculus in order to keep it alive.

In FGT2, TERA offered a small in-game tutorial explaining all the basics about the Homunculus. Today we will share this information with the community, including some additional information from our team’s experience with our own Homunculi.

TERA PvP: Berserker Tips (Basic)

In this section we will take an overview on Tera Berserker PVP. This is about using your skills wisely, that is when, where and how to use them. You can develop your own style and build your own strategies.

For a slow melee character, the Berserker needs to close gaps between themselves and the enemy. Let’s look at some tips for Tera Berserker PVP.

This is a brief guide. I will update it to be more detailed and precise when i get my hands on more information. Visit Tera Online Berserker Guide to understand the class.

TERA Skills: Berserker Skill Introduction

Here is a brief intro to Tera Berserker skills. I am just going to write basic info about Tera Berserker skills in this one. Berserker has two types of skills mainly – damage and status effect with status effect being stun.

Damage skills dish out great deal of damage and the Swirl skill is very good to handle mobs. If you pull of skill -> stun -> skill combo well then you can take out a good chunk of your opponents Health Points.

This is a brief guide. I will update it to be more detailed and precise when i get my hands on more information. Visit Tera Online Berserker Guide to understand the class.

Tera Berserker Skills List

Backspin Attack

Image:BackspinAttack.pngAttack an enemy by spinning in circular motion. Attacks the enemy from back and stuns them temporarily. A great skill to pull of another combo just after casting.

Shout

Image:Shout.pngUnleashes a shout that has a change to put enemies in the Berserker’s vicinity into lethargic status.

Berserker

Image:Berserker.pngImproves your damage by unleashing anger held within. This skill gives you a temporary boost in your attack damage.. however, reduces your damage at the same time.

Swirl

Image:Swirl.pngWith this skill you can hit multiple targets, especially a group or a mob by spinning in circular motion and dealing damage to everybody around you. Great skill to handle mobs!

Manifestation Of Rage

Image:ManifestationOfRage.pngConverts HP to SP i.e. with this skill you can sacrifice some of your health to gain Mana. Amazing skill if you have some to heal you, it’s like you can make good use of your other skills by regenerating Mana using this skill.

That’s all on my Tera Berserker Skills entry. I will post a more detailed guide on each and every skill and how to make best use of them later on.

TERA Classes: Berserker Gameplay

In this entry, we’ll look at Tera Berserker Gameplay. I also have a couple of videos that could have a look at to get an idea of what kind of gameplay you would have if you were to play a Berserker in Tera.

This is a brief guide. I will update it to be more detailed and precise when i get my hands on more information. Visit Tera Online Berserker Guide  to understand the class.

TERA Classes: Archer Gameplay

I thought of checking out Tera Archer gameplay videos when I was looking at different classes. It looks like Archer in Tera is really fun to play. Not easy, but not difficult either.

Precision and Range are important. Unlike other MMO games where precision wasn’t even concerned. The Archer sprites look cool, especially when you are on a mount.

TERA Class: Sorcerer PvP – 3 best PvP Tips

In a PvP situation, what you need to understand very clearly is that you cannot afford to take much damage. The main strategy you need to follow here is “Low DPS is better than No DPS”. Let us understand what this means in depth in this part of the Tera Online Sorcerer guide.

This is a brief guide. I will update it to be more detailed and precise when i get my hands on more information. Visit Tera Online Sorcerer Guide to understand the class.

Tera Online Sorcerer PVP Tip #1 – Know your strength and weakness

As a Tera Online Sorcerer it very clear where your strength and weaknesses lie. As I have said before there is one simple statement you need to keep in mind. Low DPS is better than No DPS at all. This means that, in a battle whenever you sense any danger you should stop whatever you are doing and find a safer place to attack from.

The strong points of the Sorcerer is that they can bring down enemies very quick. You can use different combos while using traps to slow them down.

Tera Online Sorcerer PVP Tip #2 – Use skills wisely

You need to understand which skills to use where and how. While initiating when a for is unaware use blast ball empowered with Contract of Wreck. Pop contract of wreck and charge Blast Ball and fire. Blast ball is best used at the start as you won’t get time during the battle to use it again.

As I have repeatedly said, the Tera Online Sorcerer must keep his or her distance from the enemy at all costs. You can use spells like Pillar of Flame if they got to close or Backstep to take a leap backwards. You can also use Mana Shield to avoid damage. But Mana shield must not be reckless used as it can drain you out of mana very easily.

The Tera Online Sorcerer is nothing without Mana, use Mana Recovery to recover the used mana.

Tera Online Sorcerer PVP Tip #3 – Know your opponent strengths and weaknesses

If your foe is a melee class, then it is better to stay away from them and try to nuke them down. If they have spells which can pull you to them or them coming to you, then you should be ready to use a trap or spells like Backstep.

If playing another ranged character then you need to keep dodging their spells all the while trying to aim them. This can be hard but can achieved with some experience.

Now that we have a basic understanding of the Tera Online Sorcerer PvP ,look at the other guides in this section for a more in depth view of the Sorcerer.
