TERA Slayer Guide & Introduction

A new MMORPG is reputed to be coming to the Western Market in 2011. It has many classes, some traditional and some new, to offer the avid gamer. The world looks rich and immersive from the races to the lore.

As a gamer myself, I was very interested in some of the descriptions offered for the classes. I play social role playing games. Unlike many traditional gamers who would play a strong fighter, often slow to mobilize with heavy armor, with intelligence as a dump statistic I tend to prefer a highly mobile fighter with dexterity and high damage who attacks in a strategic fashion.TERA
seems to be a game designed to blend both immersive gaming and real time responses and if that is the case, then the TERA Slayer class is very interesting as it holds the components I prefer to build into my fighters. The class wears light armor and wields a great sword. The TERA Slayer, as I expected to see with a light armor restriction, favors high mobility.
For those who prefer the damage dealing classes of other games, called DPS which stands for Damage Per Second, and who prefer to deal their damage out while standing toe to toe in melee combat, the TERA Slayer looks to be the way to go. For all that the class appears highly mobile and deals high damage numbers, it does not have the look or the feel of a rogue or ninja type class. It’s hard to say though how the class will feel until the testing is opened or the game releases.
Most of the TERA Slayer skills mentioned seem to focus on circular attacks with the great sword, kicks, and yelling. The TERA Slayer is described as an aggressive class which seems to indicate to me that the advantage against a foe will require quick actions and positioning so as to lay on the pressure and keep the opponent pinned down on the battle map.
As the game hasn’t released yet, I wasn’t able to tell if there would be player versus player applications but if there were, it would seem like the TERA Slayer is ideal for staying in the opponent’s face and hassling or harrying the enemy.
I think the TERA Slayer will be an interesting class to play. It certainly appeals to me in the qualities and attributes that are built into the class.
